Sengex, a data security firm that provides mobile security solutions to government agencies, has announced that the Lua secure mobile communication platform is now available on the Sengex platform though the US General Services Administration’s (GSA) Advantage Schedule 70 contract. The GSA is responsible for managing and supporting the basic functioning of government agencies. GSA awards an Advantage Schedule 70 contract to commercial technology vendors that are in compliance with all appropriate laws and regulations and have been determined to offer quality products and services at a fair and reasonable price point.  While it is not necessary for a company to be awarded an Advantage Schedule 70 contract in order to provide products and services to government agencies, the contract removes a lot of red tape and using those pre-approved companies can significantly reduce administrative costs. University of Louisville School of Dentistry Improves Care Coordination with Lua Text Message Platform

The University of Louisville School of Dentistry has implemented a new, secure messaging system to improve communication between its 1,000 staff and students. UoL School of Dentistry runs graduate programs and teaches general dentistry and dental hygiene to around 600 students. Due to the sensitive nature of data that must be communicated it is essential to have a highly secure communications platform in place. That platform must be mobile friendly as the majority of communications take place using mobile devices, but also be suitable for use on other devices such as desktop computers. The solution must also be compliant with all provisions of HIPAA to ensure that protected health information can be transmitted safely and securely using the platform. Before the new system was introduced, staff were reliant on consumer messaging apps for internal communications. While these apps allowed staff to collaborate, they were only of use for casual discussions as they were not HIPAA compliant. Text messages were convenient, but their use was limited as they could not be used in conjunction...

Lua Adds Do Not Disturb Feature to Secure Texting Platform

Lua has updated its secure communications and texting platform and added a new “Do Not Disturb” mode to the platform to improve communication control. The new feature can be set by any user on the system and acts a mute button. DND mode can be activated during off-time, meetings, or when messages cannot otherwise be viewed and calls cannot be taken. When users activate DND mode they can set an optional status message to inform users the reason why contact is not possible. When DND mode is activated it is made clear to other users that the person is temporarily unavailable through status messages. Text messages will still be delivered and the senders of those messages can see when their messages have been read. Users can choose to accept messages and view them without having to move out of DND mode.
