Connectria Gains AWS Healthcare Competency for Third Successive Year

Connectria has announced it has gained Amazon Web Services (AWS) Healthcare Competency for the third successive year, demonstrating the company is capable of delivering a HIPAA compliant service in AWS for its healthcare customers.

AWS Healthcare Competency is one of several Competencies under the AWS Competency Program. The program was created by AWS to demonstrate which members of the AWS Partner Network (APN) were technically proficient in delivering specialized solutions for specific industry sectors and could demonstrate proven customer successes.

Companies that achieve the AWS Healthcare Competency can differentiate themselves from others by demonstrating their level of expertise in helping healthcare providers, health plans, healthcare clearinghouses and business associates of HIPAA-covered entities migrate to the cloud.

In order to achieve AWS Healthcare Competency, Connectria underwent a rigorous audit of its cloud-based solutions for the healthcare sector. The company demonstrated technical proficiency in building and delivering HIPAA-compliant cloud solutions on the AWS platform that incorporate all the necessary safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information (PHI) that is stored, processed, transmitted, or analyzed on AWS.  That expertise was backed up examples of how the company’s solutions have been successfully deployed by healthcare clients.

“Connectria once again passed this rigorous test, further validating that our innovative, cloud-based solutions meet the unique requirements when handling PHI in AWS, in accordance with the HIPAA standards,” said Steve Grzybinski, Connectria’s Director of Security, Compliance and Technology.

Connectria was the first service provider to offer HIPAA-compliant clouds for the healthcare sector in 2007 and continues to demonstrate its position as one of the leading cloud service providers serving the healthcare sector.

In addition to helping its healthcare clients achieve HIPAA compliance on AWS, Connectria has also demonstrated competence on Microsoft Azure, and other IT environments such as VMware and Hyper-V on both Windows and Linux.
