LuxSci, a Massachusetts-based provider of HIPAA-compliant email communication services, has announced that its HIPAA-compliant transactional email service has been made available free of charge to organizations delivering COVID-19-related health or safety information.

The COVID-19 pandemic has placed healthcare organizations under a great deal of strain. During these difficult times it is essential for critical information to be communicated quickly and efficiently. Laboratories conducting diagnostic COVID-19 tests need to communicate test results as quickly as possible to ensure infected patients can be isolated and provided with appropriate medical care.

A HIPAA-compliant email service can help laboratories meet the demands the pandemic has placed on them and speed up time-sensitive communications. “Email communication sounds mundane, but right now it can literally save lives and help us bootstrap our way back to normal more safely.  As the country starts to open up and we struggle to socially distance, knowing your results days or hours sooner may be the difference between attending an event or staying home,” explained LuxSci’s CEO, Erik Kangas. “As I watch friends and family fall sick and fear for others, I realize that this is one unique way that we can make a small but important difference.”

Testing and retesting are critical in the fight against SARS-CoV-2 and high volumes of tests need to be conducted to help get the pandemic under control and prevent a second peak of infections. Laboratories will need to continue to conduct high volumes of tests for the foreseeable future, so it is essential for them to have a mode of communication that supports high-volume, fast, efficient, and secure communications. HIPAA compliant email services meet those requirements.

LuxSci’s HIPAA compliant transactional email service has been offered to organizations of any size that are delivering COVID-19-related health or safety information, including organizations with modest communication needs of up to 25,000 messages a month and those with high-capacity messaging need of millions of messages a month. Typical prices for those email volumes range between $100 and more than $1,000 a month.

The offer is available through October 1, 2020. Some restrictions may apply.
