TigerText Announces Collaboration with Honeywell

TigerText, the leading provider of secure text messaging solutions for the healthcare industry, has announced that users of the Honeywell’s new Dolphin™ CT50h smartphone can now use the TigerText secure messaging app.

TigerText has been working closely with Honeywell to develop a customized version of its app which can be downloaded onto the Dolphin smartphone.

The new version of the TigerText app works with the next-generation scanner on Honeywell’s Dolphin™ CT50h smartphone, which can be used to verify patients’ identities. TigerText has incorporated its bot technology which allows healthcare data to be pulled directly from healthcare providers’ electronic medical record systems.

Physicians can use the app to retrieve critical up-to-date health information about patients’ medications by scanning barcodes with the Dolphin smartphone. The TigerText app allows physicians to obtain EMR data in real time, ensuring they can access all patient data including recent procedures and notes entered by all members of the care team.

Having access to the most up-to-date patient information will help physicians to make critical care decisions. The new TigerText app can also be used to receive and send patients’ protected health information securely.

Brad Brooks, TigerText co-founder and CEO, recently announced the new collaboration. Brooks said “We’re excited to work with Honeywell to bring the rapidly expanding number of connected clinicians an innovative bot-driven solution for quickly accessing EMR data from a patient’s bedside.”

Brooks believes the app can be of tremendous benefit to healthcare organizations. By improving the speed of communication, healthcare organizations can improve productivity and drive down costs. Brooks said, “With rising healthcare costs it is essential that providers find ways to lower overhead and drive efficiencies. Messenger bots offer an exciting new avenue for automating tasks, accessing organizational data in real time, increasing patient satisfaction, and improving the bottom line.”

Kirk Heyde, vice president, Honeywell Sensing and Productivity Solutions, explained the importance of the collaboration with TigerText and the need for a secure messaging platform on the Dolphin™ CT50h smartphone.

“As text messaging becomes more commonplace in healthcare, nurses need a quick and reliable method to communicate with hospital staff in order to provide their patients with quality care,” Heyde went on to say “By combining Honeywell’s Dolphin CT50h clinical smartphone with TigerText’s secure messaging platform, nurses become ‘connected clinicians’ to communicate more effectively with care teams from any location within the hospital using a single device.”
