TitanHQ Adds Geo-Blocking in New SpamTitan Release

TitanHQ has announced the release of a new version of its award-winning email security solution. SpamTitan 7.11 includes a new geo-blocking feature that gives administrators the option of blocking emails that come from certain geographical areas. Users can block emails from any country/countries in the SpamTitan Country IP Database. This feature will allow users to tackle geographic threat vectors and is an important additional filtering mechanism, as malware and spam often originates from a range of key countries that many companies do not normally do business with.

If a total geographic block on emails is not practical, this can be combined with the whitelist function, which will ensure emails from trusted IP addresses, domains, or email addresses are not subject to the geo-blocking controls. Geo-blocking can be managed at the admin, domain group, domain and user levels, but must be activated as it is disabled by default.

“Geoblocking has been a much-requested feature and as always we listen to our customer and provide what they need to implement the very best email security they can,” said TitanHQ CEO Ronan Kavanagh. “After experiencing 30% growth in 2021, TitanHQ expects these product enhancements and new features to make 2021 another record-breaking year.”

Several updates have been made to improve threat detection, including to the sandboxing feature. The update provides greater protection against malware, ransomware, advanced persistent threats, malicious URLs, and spear phishing attacks, and gives greater insights into threats to help users mitigate risk more effectively. Updates have also been made to fix bugs and other recently reported issues. TitanHQ has also enhanced email rendering in Mail Viewer, users now have the option of removing quarantine report token expiry, and domain verification has also been improved.

The new version of SpamTitan was released on September 14, 2021. Users of SpamTitan Cloud will have the updated version of SpamTitan automatically installed. Users of SpamTitan Gateway will be required to download the updated version of SpamTitan manually through System Setup > System Updates.
