The Mauldin SC-based IT company, Ruffian Software, has completed Compliancy Group’s HIPAA compliance process and has been confirmed as having implemented an effective HIPAA compliance program.

Ruffian Software protects the networks, systems, and data of managed IT providers and their clients through automated privileged account management. The company has developed a platform for creating, managing, and securing privileged accounts, which enables IT providers to effortlessly attain a more secure, compliant, and efficient security posture.

To demonstrate the company’s commitment to HIPAA compliance, Ruffian Software partnered with Compliancy Group. Compliancy Group has a tried and trusted HIPAA compliance methodology that business associates such as Ruffian Software can follow to ensure they have implemented policies, practices, and procedures to fully comply with all of their obligations under the HIPAA Privacy, Security, Breach Notification, Omnibus Rules and the HITECH Act.

The compliance journey can be complicated, which is why Compliancy Group developed its compliance tracking software solution – The Guard. The software can be used by HIPAA-regulated entities to ensure no aspect of compliance is overlooked.

Ruffian Software used The Guard, and followed Compliancy Group’s methodology. After successfully completing the 6-Stage HIPAA risk analysis and remediation process, the company’s good faith effort toward HIPAA compliance was assessed by Compliancy Group’s HIPAA subject matter experts. Ruffian Software was confirmed as having implemented an effective HIPAA compliance program and was awarded the HIPAA Seal of Compliance.

“Achieving this recognition marks a critical milestone for Ruffian Software as we continue to prove to our partners and customers that we not only enable their own security and compliance, but also practice what we preach,” said Martin White, Founder, Ruffian Software. “The team at Compliancy Group have been instrumental in guiding us through this due diligence and their insights and guidance were tremendous. We are thankful for their partnership and look forward to collaborating in empowering the channel to be more secure and compliant.”
